La ex presidenta de Chile, Michelle Bachelet, es ahora la encargada de la nueve agencia ONU Mujeres y entre sus prioridades se encuentra luchar encontra de la violencia intrafamiliar y la violencia sexual que sufren las mujeres al rededor del mundo.
Esto es especialmente importante para todos los latinos que vivimos en este país, no solo porque es latina, sino porque representa una esperanza para todas las mujeres latinas víctimas de crimen en este país. Muchas mujeres llegan a Los Estados Unidos huyendo de la violencia que se comete contra ellas en sus países de origen. Muchas veces son obligadas a huir ya que las autoridades no les brindan ninguana protección, pero desafortunadamente al llegar a este país se encuentran con un gran desafío, la legalidad migratoria, lo cual las pone en peligro si son deportadas o por el hecho de ser indocumentadas no denuncian los crimenes que se cometen contra ellas en este país.
Ahora podremos contar con el apoyo de esta gran mujer, para que los Estados Unidos pare las deportaciones de muchas mujeres que corren el riesgo de ser asesinadas al llegar a sus países y exija una ley que proteja a las mujeres indocumentadas que denuncien a sus agresores con la policía.
Michele Bachelet es una esperanza para todas las mujeres inmigrantes en este país que sufren violencia intrafamiliar, violencia sexual y para las víctimas de tráfico humano. Ella es un verdaderamente un urgullo Latino!

The former president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, is now in charge of the new UN agency that fights for the rights of women around the world and one of her priorities is to fight against domestic violence and sexual abuse against women.
This is important to Latinos living in The United States, not only because she is Latina, but because she represents hope for all undocumented Latino women victims of crime. Many come to this country running away from violence in their countries of origin due to the lack of protection from their local authorities. However, when they arrived to this country, they have to face the immigration issue that place them in risk due to deportation procedures or because they are afraid to denounce their aggressors to the police due the the fear of deportation.
No we can count with the support of this great woman, she can advocate on our behalf to stop the deportation of many women who may be killed as soon as they are back to their countries of origin and also to advocate for a law that protects immigrant women victims of violence from being deported as a result of calling the police to denounce their aggresors in this country.
Michele Bachelet is the hope for all undocumented immigrant women in this country that suffer domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. She is a true Latino pride!
